What to Expect at Mt Olive Church
So what’s it like to walk through the doors of Mount Olive? We hope you feel comfortable and encouraged! We understand that taking that first step to finding a church home can be difficult and perhaps even scary. Below you’ll find a synopsis of what you can expect each Sunday at Mt Olive. So, why don’t you come visit? You may find this to be the right place for you!
Sunday Morning Services
The Mt. Olive Campus is located at 500 Jefferson Street in Van Buren. We are just over the Garrison Bridge 1 block off of Highway 64. Mt. Olive has two identical Sunday morning services at 9:00am and 10:45am for you to choose from. Our services begin with upbeat and current music with a live band followed by a Biblical message that is real and easy to relate to your own struggles and celebrations in life. Parking
Parking is located in two areas close to the main entrance. You may park at the lot located at the corner of 5th and Jefferson or in the parking lot of US Bank. Handicapped parking is also available and located at the rear entrance of the church with wheelchair access directly into the sanctuary or the office. Look for our parking signs to help guide you!
Look for a purple shirt!
We hope you will encounter a couple of friendly faces to welcome you to Mt. Olive on the front steps of our sanctuary on Sunday morning. Our greeters will hand you a bulletin that offers upcoming information and an outline for the message. Anyone in a purple shirt can assist you with needs or questions you may have. We want to show you around and get to know you!
Café/Welcome Area
Located to the side of the sanctuary you’ll find some pretty fantastic coffee! And yes, drinks are allowed in the sanctuary! The café is another great place to get questions answered or get help finding your way around.
KidMO (that’s ‘Kid-Mt Olive)
A full children’s program is available for Kindergarten to 5th grade during both services. Our time is divided into large group and small group settings. We worship together, play together, do activities together, and pray together. KidMO classes are located on the 2nd floor. Click here to learn more.
Nursery and MiniMO (that’s Mini-Mt Olive)
Our nursery begins at birth. Toddlers ‘graduate’ out of our nursery when they turn two. Our MiniMO classes are for 2 to 3 years and 4 years to Pre-K. Nursery and MiniMO classes meet for both services and are located on the 1st floor. To learn more, visit our nursery or MiniMo pages.
Children’s Ministry Security Check
We take the safety and security of our children very seriously. For your convenience we have three check in stations located through out the first floor. One is located just inside the children's ministry entrance, one inside the nursery and one at the end of the hallway, right in front of our MiniMO environment. Your first visit to Mt.Olive we will ask you to provide us with a little information about your child and then the next time you come your child will be ready to be checked in through our computer system. Once checked in each child will receive a security badge with their name and a unique number. Parents will also receive a badge with just the number printed. When you pick up your child you will hand the badge to the leader and they will match the badge with your child's. KidMO, MiniMO, and Nursery servant staff will have blue T-shirts on with the Mt. Olive logo across the front.
MidMO (5th & 6th grade Middle School Students)
MidMO meets every Sunday morning during the 10:45 worship service. They meet upstairs in the last room on the right. Click here to visit the MidMo page.
JMO (7th & 8th grade Junior High Students)
JMO meets every Sunday morning during the 10:45 worship service in the basement. Access to the basement is located right inside the children’s ministry entrance. Click here to learn more.
MOmentum (9th – 12th grade Students)
Our student ministry for high school students meets Wednesday nights at 6:30pm in the basement. We explore God’s Word and do life together! Access to the basement is located right inside the children’s ministry entrance. A meal is served for our students every Wednesday night! Click here for more information.
Your NEXT Step
Do you love Mt. Olive but wonder what’s the next step for me here? Am I ready for membership? What are lifegroups and do I want to join one? Where can I serve? We have a 2 week class called Next Step available the 1st and 2nd Sunday night every month. Next Step starts at 4:30pm. This class focuses on the mission and vision of Mount Olive.
